Have you ever lived in or visited Claysville Pa? Yes, attended Claysville Elementary
Comments:
This is a great website and it brought back a lot of memories. I attended Claysville Elementary School 1952- 1955 and I remember Mrs Wolf and Mrs Clutter as teachers. We lived on a farm behind Sunset beach (you could see the drive in movie screen from my bedroom window). My Mother's family was from Claysville; her name is Evelyn Hilton. I was trying to locate info on Coon Island when I came across your website. Again-beautifully done. Thanks.

Comments:
My grandparents, Pete and Marjorie Sloan live in Claysville and my mother was born there. I just went back to visit for the first time in about 20 years and it stirred emotions that were so wonderful. I forgot just how beautiful a place Claysville is. I miss it dearly and every now and then consider moving from my home in Tampa Florida to go back "home" to Claysville. Claysville is, in my opinion, the way America should be.

Comments: Claysville is a quiet little town, with secrets of its own. I wish Claysville could return to the way it was in the beginning. If only we could restore Claysville to its original state. Early in the morning when the sun rises over the graveyard where my dad is at rest. It brings a warmth to the town that wasnt there before. I believe that the town has its problems, but could be reunited with the proper leader. I know there are underground condemed buildings here. Even a bowling alley. These things should be rebuilt and restored. Claysville has a heart, but it sleeps with whom knows what Claysville really was at one time.

Your memory of Claysville? Sunset Beach and visitng relatives
Comments: My father was born in Pleasant Grove and he and his parents and his sister etc are buried in the Claysville Cemetry along with my late husband whom died at the age of 29 in 1978. As a kid we spent many happy days at Sunset beach. I remember the 4th of July and drive in with the best fire works ever. Fireworks of today plae to what they used to have at Sunset Beach in the 1950's and '60's. A few years back I sent a local Claysville church a real old picture of their church that was among my Grandma Ryan's things. Isabel Vanderhoof was related to me on the ryan and MCombs side of my family. I even just found out after receivng the Ryan tree from that area that Doctor Bell's family was related, as he was married to Opal Ryan, my Uncle Tom Ryan's daughter. It has been unique to see my family tree. I went to Pleasant Grove in 1999 when I was in Washington,PA and was relieved to see that progress had not yet over taken the area with home developement and that my grandparents farm was in tack and not over grown with new homes.
